The Montreal Biodome is great place for kids and adults to learn about and explore 5 different ecosystems of the Americas. There are animals such as crocodiles, monkeys, a diverse array of birds, many species of fish, penguins and many, many more. Cameras are allowed but without flash.
My kids review: I went when my son was quite young so although he did enjoy seeing the animals, it was a little pricey for what he got out of it. I would go again when they are a bit older.
